This piece was done because I fell in love with this “staircase” frame, and a photograph by the great photographer, Mario Sirabella, of a leaf.

Obama had just been elected, so I decided to paint a salute to those individuals that break out of the pack. A toast to those that not only dream, but are willing to work very hard to make their dreams come true.
